Japanese Kanji Tattoos

The Japanese language has three alphabets used in the Japanese language known as, Hiragana, Katakana, and Kanji. Kanji are the main part of the Japanese writing system, and it’s derived from the Chinese writing system called “Hanzi” so Chinese and Japanese may have some characters that look similar but do not necessarily mean the same thing in both languages.

Kanji and Chinese characters have been popular as tattoos for a long time now. But how do we know the character really means what we’re told it means? The answer is research, do not take a single persons word for it, some one may tell you a certain character means “Pride” but it can really mean potato salad, so make sure you do your research.

Another thing about Kanji is there are a lot of them over 2000 of them in fact, this means you may have some Kanji that basically mean the same thing, but look different from each other so if you don’t like one you may find another that fits your taste a little more closely.
